Grandchild #1 Ruthie

I thought I would highlight some of the highlights in my life, today, since most of my little known facts came from the past. I told you my life was an open book, so I had to go way back to find things that most people didn't know...Of course, Adam has heard them all..over and over again.

So I'll start with grandchild #1, Ruthie. She is 8 years old and about to leave second grade and Mrs. Johnson, her 1st and second grade teacher. Mrs. Johnson is retiring this year, or I am sure she would put in for another year with this class.

I visited their class this year, and spent a few hours with a fantastic class of second graders, and a teacher who still cares about what is important for her students. And this fine lady brought out the most from Ruthie....thank you, Linda. As a Grandmother, I could not be more appreciative...as a retired teacher, I could not be prouder to have gotten to know such a fine teacher!
Back to Ruthie....Turns out she is not only the smartest and most talented second grader in the entire world ( not to mention the cutest!!!), she was pronounced the best writer in her class, by Mrs. Johnson. I am attaching the copy of a story she wrote in August of 2007.

Needless to say, I was thrilled with her choice of topic; even prouder of her budding talent in writing.

Ruthie is also a wonderful gymnast...Actually, I think she would be great in anything she tackled, because of her dogged determination. Dean and his mom and I visited one of her practices in April....we were completely exhausted!!!

Ruthie is the first of our 4 beautiful grandchildren. We are so proud of them all. And we love them BUNCHES!
