Tag

I started this blog as a result of a tag from my niece, Karen. Here goes...7 things that most people do not know about me..This is truly hard, since my mother always said that I was an open book!

1. As a middle child of three girls, I probably had more brushes with danger than the other two.I survived a runaway horse (twice), a fall from a neighbor's porch ( I loved to climb, glad it wasn't a fall from the tangerine tree), an almost yearly tetanus avoidance( I stepped on a nail every year we went to the beach), a bout of pneumonia ( Mama was afraid it was TB, as my nurse had that disease) , and finally, except for my loud crying, I would have bled to death the time I nicked an artery in my hand, trying to put holes in a jar in which my sister, Mim, had placed a grasshopper without any air holes (Thank you Mr. Peters for hearing me!)

2. I could always get my younger sister, Mim, to do the things I was afraid to try. She was fearless. For instance, I always wondered, what could they do at the dentist office if you wouldn't open your mouth. Yep, told Mim about the "huge needle" and four trips later, an elephant ride, and a valium prescribed by Dr. Debo...she finally opened up!

3. When I am sick, with a fever, I invariably dream about a huge tidal like wave! I am sure there is a dream interpreter out there somewhere that could help me with that.

4. Even though I didn't feel very attractive as a teenager(I have battled weight, ever since being given iron pills to fight the anemia, which caused my pneumonia at age eight),I won a couple of contests that I felt you had to be popular to win. The most socially significant was, being elected the very first female Student Council president in the history of Eustis High School. It was in the year 1967.

5. Dean never had cleaner clothes, than when we were seniors in College. We had married, and the laundromat sat in between our apartment and Krispy Kreme!!(Chocolate Glazed)

6. I was the fastest runner in my fifth grade class, won the Spelling Bee to represent my school in the Lake County competition, got picked first for "Red Rover"(every time), and had a beautiful butterfly collection in the third grade.

7. I truly love to give, more than I like to receive... My Mama once said that I could find something to bring home for others, even if I only went to the 7 Eleven.

OK, now I have to tag someone...I will tag Cori and Sherry...they are young enough to quickly figure out this Blogging!! I will also tag Adie and Miriam, but it will take them some time to respond...I'll help ladies!!
